All photographs are part of the description. We are always cleaning out houses that contain some great vintage and antique items. Our inventory is constantly changing. We might have fine China one week, and Steiff or Militaria the next, so please check my other listings, and make sure you add me to your favorite sellers lists. This photo came to us exactly as you see it in the photos. I tried to find a picture of Colonel Tichenor to confirm his identity but all I could find was an incredible biography located at. Tichenor (whoever wrote the tag inside the case spelled it wrong), fought at Bull Run, Chantilly, and Fredericksburg, to name a few. He became Colonel in 1862 after Fredericksburg. After the war Colonel Tichenor stayed in Washington DC and was ultimately buried in Arlington Cemetary. The case was red velvet but most of the velvet has worn off. It measures 3-5/8 tall and 2-1/8 wide. The cover is adorned with a beautiful handcarved Mother of Pearl cameo silhouette of a young girl. The inside of the case is in excellent condition, with a beautiful satin lined cover. You can see in the photos that there is some wear near the clasp, but the clasp still works well. Everything about this piece is straight and right, just the way you want to find them. Please review the photos for a complete description. We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts in the field.
