Civil War Confederate 1/6 Plate Ambrotype Possible VA Artilleryman

A 1/6 Plate Confederate Ambrotype that for the longest time I thought was most likely an Alabama image (based on similar uniforms) until I came across an soldier in identical uniform in Still more Confederate Faces (D A Serrano). The Published image has the same uniform and same image imperfection – the black cut-off at the bottom of the image. The cut-off seems to have been an issue with the photographer rather than post photograph damage. The Still More Confederate Faces image is attributed to the 3rd VA Light Artillery. The listed image appears to be the same photographer and same uniform – whether VA artilleryman or Alabama image. Very clear image – overall very good. Another question is whether the image reflects a Creole or Hispanic background or maybe a bit of sunburn! Housed in composition 1/2 case.
