Lincoln once described him as little more than a first rate clerk. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite three-quarter length portrait of Halleck in uniform, by E. Anthony of New York, signed in the lower border in black ink. In fine condition, with some trivial soiling and subtle silvering to dark areas of the image.
