1/6 Plate Civil War Tintype Militia Musician with Cymbals 1851 Belt Plate

This is a nice 1/6 plate tintype, either Civil War or postwar, of a militia member dressed smartly in a triple-breasted uniform coat with piping near the cuff, epaulettes upon his shoulders, kepi, and belt with a Pattern 1851 brass eagle belt plate. The buttons are of the 3-piece muffin style, but there isn’t quite enough detail to identify them. The man poses with a pair of cymbals in his hands, suggesting he is a member of his unit’s band. The image’s plate has a vertical bend across the man’s face and body, but is otherwise in good condition. Comes in a nice full leather case with floral motif.
